Benefits Of Fish Oil and Vitamin E

Fish Oil and Vitamin E

Fish oil and Vitamin E- Are Nature’s Gift to Your HeartJust like vitamin E concentrated amounts of a nutrient found in fish oils can actually help protect us from heart disease.

This nutrient is called eicosapentaenoic acid, or EPA for short. Fish oil and vitamin E have been shown to reduce blood viscosity and platelet adhesiveness, so that the blood is less sticky and less prone to clot.

This in turn reduces the risk of plaque formation on the walls of the arteries and clots cutting off the vital flow of blood to the heart, brain, and other parts of the body.

Atherosclerosis is the Key Culprit in Heart Disease

Atherosclerosis occurs when the linings of the arteries become thickened and hardened with accumulations of fat, cholesterol, fibrin ( a clotting material), calcium and debris from the cells.

As the artery walls become thick and hard, the arteries narrow and lose their ability to contract and expand.

This results in reduced blood flow through these arteries and an increased risk of a blood clot forming and blocking blood flow entirely.

Sudden Death is Sometimes the First Symptom of Heart Disease!

When a clot blocks and artery to the heart, the result is loss of blood to the heart and a coronary thrombosis, one form of heart attack. When a clot completely blocks and artery to the brain, the result is loss of blood to the brain and a cerebral thrombosis, on form of stroke.

Atherosclerosis is a silent, symptomless disease, and a person might not be aware of a problem until something dramatic happened-such as a stroke, heart failure, kidney failure, or blocked blood flow to some other part of the body (such as the legs). About 25 percent of first time heart attack victims , sudden death is the first symptom of heart trouble.

The Secret of the Eskimos

Scientist have known for many years that the Eskimos of Greenland have very low incidence of heart disease. What they could not understand, is why, Eskimos eat a huge amount of whale blubber, or saturated animal fat and that usually leads to heart disease.

The scientist first thought that the Eskimos had some sort of inborn “genetic protection” against the high fat saturated fat diet. The inadequacy of this explanation became clear when members of this population group left Greenland and settled in the United States and Europe. When these Eskimos started eating the Standard American Diet (SAD for short) their rate of coronary heart disease increased to equal the American and European rate. Apparently, “genetic protection” is not the secret of the Eskimos.

The Greenland Eskimos and Heart Disease

In the first study of the Eskimos conducted in the early 1970’s by two scientist named Bang and Dyerberg.

They researched a district in Greenland with a population of 2,600 and found that from 1963 to 1967 there were only three deaths from atherosclerosis, in another study theses two scientists determined that there had been no deaths from this cause during the decade of 1968-1978, During this same decade, atherosclerosis was the number one cause of death among Americans!

It Is Our Processed Food That is Killing Us!

Fish oil and Vitamin E are the compounds that protected the Greenland Eskimos and other people like Japanese and any place where the food is not over processed, usually industrialized nations have poor health because of people wanting fast convenient foods.

The Norwegians and Heart Disease

The two scientist Bang and Dyerberg found that seafood was the back bone of the Eskimos diet. And the particular type of seafood eaten was cold water fish. Encouraged by the results of their Experiments. They also looked at other populations that consume cold water fish. They came across the Norwegians.

Studying the Norwegians they found that between 1941 and 1945 during world war ll, the Norwegian population in Oslo experienced a marked decrease in heart attack deaths. During this period, the scientists learned, Norwegian diets included a significant reduction in dairy foods and a significant increase in cold water fish, especially herring.

Bang and Dyerberg concluded that the decrease in coronary heart disease in Oslo, Norway was due, at least in part, to this change in the Norwegian diet.

The Okinawan’s are Some of the Longest Living People In the World

The Japanese rate of heart disease, though higher than the Eskimo is still significantly lower than the American. The Japanese diet, like the Eskimo, includes a generous amount of cold water fish. There fish oil and vitamin E intake is much higher than the American diet.

Coastal Japanese, who eat more cold water fish, have a lower rate of heart disease than inland Japanese, who eat less. Both groups, however, have a much lower incidence of heart disease than Americans, who eat and overly processed diet.

How Much Fish Oil and Vitamin E Do We Need

Some times though getting enough fish oil and vitamin E in your diet is very hard if not impossible, in our fast paced American lifestyle we don’t take the time to eat right that’s why it is good to supplement. The Greenland Eskimos get about 12 grams of fish oil per day that equates to about 12 servings of fish.

Because eating enough fish to stay healthy can be bad for your health with all the mercury in the fish in our polluted oceans, a fish oil and vitamin E supplement that has been purified to remove the contaminates is not only a good idea but it is the only way to get the vitamins, minerals and omega-3’s we need in our diet.

Resveratrol and Anti Aging

As important as fish oil and vitamin E are in our diet there are some more compounds that we need to have optimal health, Resveratrol has been researched in over 2500 scientific papers on it’s effectiveness on disease and anti aging and is very for preventing cardiovascular disease. And resveratrol is the only anti aging compound that actually goes into the cell and turns on certain genes, mainly the longevity genes and also can help with the four key mechanisms of cellular aging. Fish oil and vitamin E are also anti aging, anything that improves health and prevents disease can be considered anti aging.

What Are the Four Key Mechanisms of Cellular Aging

    • DNA Damage

Every day, every cell in your body is bombarded by up to a million DNA-damaging assaults. These assaults can damage the cell’s genetic database, creating a “typo” that may compromise cell function and longevity.

    • Genetic Regulators

Genetic regulators contribute to age-related cellular deterioration by controlling the dynamic balance between damage and repair, including whether a cell will live or not.

    • Declining Cellular Energy Production

Mitochondria in our cells create energy we can’t live without. As mitochondrial efficiency decreases, cell function declines.

    • Accumulation of AGE Proteins

Excess accumulation of Advanced Glycation End products (AGE) can cause cellular damage that can compromise cell integrity and longevity.

Resveratrol supplements are the only way to get the resveratrol benefits that can significantly slow the aging process, and there is only one product on the market today that effects all four mechanisms of aging, the last one being AGE proteins. The Muscadine grape with a polyphenol blend that is 98 to 100% pure ( products that are only 50% pure leave behind emodim and this compound causes diarrhea) that is able to effect all four mechanisms of aging.
